are there any events out there that are good for someone just getting into the scene, not that intense,well, maybe a little, preferably mostly young people... gosh these things are hard to find. and i just dont know where to get my kicks these days... I just really want to find some people around my age, who share my interests and chill with them. wah!

You should try LAPE, it is all about playing and socializing. A mixed crowd, tons of play stations and even some nibbles to help keep everyones energy levels nice and high.

I like to go to Hell at the Ivar on the last Wednesday of the month. It's real soon - tomorrow or next Wednesday! If you don't find the live stage shows entertaining then you can dance and look at cool art pieces! It's mainly a young crowd in fetish wear.
If that's a no go then try any one of Passive Arts play parties. They are on Saturdays! I think Feral already mentioned LAPE on the first Saturday of the month. It's a good party to lounge, drink, and be served appetizers.
If you want a younger more hipper crowd, try DV8 at Passive Arts. It is the second and fourth Saturdays.
If you want to watch some stage shows, club Discipline is good! It also houses the old SM crowd from the legendary Sin-a-Matic days! This is on the third Saturday.
There is also Bar Sinister in Hollywood also on Saturdays. I haven't been there in a long time!
As for San Diego, you can check out Dungeon Servitus... I think they are based out of San Diego. See if they are doing munches or other events!

wow, thats like everything i could ever want to know... thanks a ton! perhaps i'll stop in a one of those sometime very soon and do what I do best: walk up to random people, introduce myself, and see how friendly they are. yay for cracked up social skills! its so wierd, after exploring bdsm with my boyfriend for over a year, i finally just had this sudden urge to get out of the house... exciting.
